Abstract
The American Association of Endodontics (AAE) has regarded contemporary Endodontic Microsurgery (EMS) approach as an Era of Renaissance for endodontists. With advent of latest bioactive materials and application of digitalization, endodontic microsurgery can be performed with better safety and predictability. The first part of the lecture deals with the applications of the novel radiographic techniques in endodontics, mostly with the use of CBCT and the 3D imaging of the teeth dealt with endodontically and surgical endodontic cases. The second part deals with other digital applications and systems such as digital access to root canals, the evaluation of complex roots and the variations in tooth morphology. The final third part deals with the digital systems in guided endodontic procedures which are constantly evolving and gaining more followers in cases where conventional endodontics have technical difficulties. This lecture will provide insight on cone beam computed tomography and its impact on diagnosis and endodontic treatments, application of static and dynamic navigation in endodontic treatments.
