Dr. Jerry E. Bouquot earned his DDS and MSD from the University of Minnesota, with postdoctoral fellowships at the Mayo Clinic and Denmark’s Royal Dental College. Dr. Bouquot is a renowned oral pathologist with over 45 years of academic and clinical leadership. He has served as chair of two dental school departments and directed three major biopsy services.
He has delivered over 2,800 research and continuing education lectures across 32 countries and all 50 U.S. states. His innovative contributions include developing two of the most-visited oral pathology websites, attracting over 6.5 million annual hits at their peak. A prolific researcher and educator, Dr. Bouquot has published more than 465 scientific works, co-authored the leading textbook in oral pathology, and named over 36 oral diseases.
Among his 60+ awards, he received the American Cancer Society’s St. George National Award, the Bridgeman Distinguished Dentist Award, and multiple lifetime achievement recognitions.
Currently, Dr. Bouquot is Emeritus Chair at the University of Texas and Clinical Professor at West Virginia University. He continues to lead the Maxillofacial Center for Education and Research, fostering advancements in oral pathology. Recognized globally, his contributions have cemented his legacy as a pioneer in oral health education and research.
