Professor Emeritus Lakshman Samaranayake, from the University of Hong Kong, is a highly accomplished clinical academic with expertise in microbiology, research, and senior executive-level administration. With an impressive career spanning over four decades in academia, he has held key leadership positions as the former Executive Dean of two major dental schools at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the University of Queensland in Australia. Notably, under his guidance, the Faculty of Dentistry at HKU achieved the top ranking as the best Dental School in the world from 2014 to 2016 according to QS/THE Rankings.
